Job Summary

Troubleshoot, service, install, and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and cargo inspection equipment at customer sites, including airports, correctional facilities, and cruise ships. Maintain field service logs, manage repair parts inventory, and ensure tools and test equipment are properly calibrated. Respond to emergency and non-scheduled service calls within established response time goals while completing scheduled maintenance and customer training as required. Foster positive customer relations through effective communication, follow-up calls, and participation in service sales opportunities. Submit expenses, time cards, and paperwork within specified timelines while complying with company safety, environmental, and U.S. export control regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)/Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics)
  • Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience of 1-3 years is acceptable work experience in a related electrical or mechanical field service role
  • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
  • Minimum of 3 years experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Must be able to respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service within established response time goals
  • Must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs
  • Must be confident in the operation of carts, hoists, davit cranes, pallet jacks or other devices as defined in the manuals and Technical Advisory documentation
  • Job requires full body mobility
  • Must be able to work safely in varied environments and around dangerous industrial equipment's
  • Must be able to travel at short notice
  • Must successfully pass a federal background investigation
  • This position may require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Possesses a solid level of technical knowledge on the company's Trace and X-Ray technologies
  • Must maintain currency on all technical certifications
  • Must be able to submit expenses, time cards and other administrative tasks within the specified timelines
  • Must be able to participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects and prepare exclusive reports
  • Must be able to establish and maintain a close relationship with senior level FST's and Product Managers in order to support the needs of the customer and remain aware of current technical trends
  • Must be able to exercise every available measure to control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue
  • Must be able to seek to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required
  • Must be able to look to senior level FSTs for knowledge growth and support when needed
  • Must be able to ensure that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Must be able to assess product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommends modifications or improvements
  • Must be able to order, install, and return parts and manage repair parts cycle time
  • Must be able to maintain an accurate inventory of parts and tools
  • Must be able to complete all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines
  • Must be able to conduct follow up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction of work
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and dedication through positive use of downtime and an overall willingness and eagerness to consistently exceed customer and company requirements
  • Must be able to foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers
  • Must be able to install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provides customer training as required
  • Must be able to maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written
  • Must be able to possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork
  • Must be able to be responsive to all customer issues at all times
  • Must be able to possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once
  • Must be able to possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to be self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual
  • Must be able to possess excellent telephone skills
  • Must be able to comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies
  • Must be able to comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
  • Must be able to be located for primary assignment for Presido, TX, within a 1-2 hour radius of Presidio, TX
  • Must be able to help provide backup support for Del Rio, TX, El Paso, TX, and Eagle Pass, TX
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, service, installs (deploys) and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites
  • Must be able to maintain field service log and filing system to properly initiate, organize and maintain all field service and job files until work is completed
  • Must be able to meet daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
  • Must be able to participate in Service Sales opportunities and assist with promoting and implementing revenue programs
