Job Summary
Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches, performing welding and fabrication of complete assemblies off-site at customer facilities. Comprehend complex blueprints and welding symbols to execute sanitary fabrication, including purge and orbital welding of stainless steel. Operate metal fabricating equipment while conducting in-process quality control checks to ensure tolerances are met. Work in a team environment with the Field Service Supervisor and customer, sometimes requiring overnight stays. Follow all shop safety rules, customer safety procedures, and food safety regulations. Supply your own basic welding and hand tools, maintain environmental standards, and work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven Field Service experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be capable of sanitary fabrication and welding techniques
- Must be capable of reading and understanding complex blueprints and welding symbols
- Must be able to perform welding and fabrication of complete assemblies while off-site
- Must supply his/her own basic welding tools and hand tools required for installation
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience required
- Ability to pass any job specific required weld certifications
- Lifting, carrying, pushing & pulling up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school preferred
- Familiar with basic Millwright equipment installation (blocks, rigging, etc.) techniques
- Ability to perform in-process quality control checks to ensure that tolerances are met
- Able to set up and operate metal fabricating equipment as required
- Capability of sanitary fabrication, including purge and orbital welding of Stainless Steel
- Basic knowledge of electricity and general welding equipment voltage
- Ability to perform all of the duties of the Field Service Technician III
