Job Summary
Conduct installation, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, piping, controls, and HVAC systems on Boston's District Steam System. Perform preventative maintenance on water, sewer, storm, and street infrastructure, including cleaning lines, operating valves, and smoke testing sewers. Execute repairs such as laying new lines, patching pavement, and fixing manholes. Respond to emergency situations involving weather events or infrastructure failures by diagnosing issues and directing repairs with supervisor approval. Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and MISS Utility regulations while preparing monthly near miss reports and maintaining organized work areas. Communicate with clients and supervisors to coordinate work efforts and manage spare parts inventory.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be willing and able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be willing and able to perform the duties of any other staff members when necessary
- Must be willing and able to communicate with the client as required to coordinate work efforts
