Job Summary
The Field Service Technician I at Vantive is responsible for managing an assigned territory and performing installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and training on various electro-mechanical medical devices. The role requires hands-on problem solving and strong communication skills to ensure positive customer experiences. Essential responsibilities include repairs and maintenance of medical equipment, scheduling service calls, ensuring test equipment calibration, documenting maintenance records, and providing guidance to customer personnel. Candidates must possess an associate’s degree in engineering, biomedical equipment technology, or related fields, or relevant certification with experience in electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to draw accurate conclusions to solve equipment related problems based on available information.
- Basic mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions are required.
- Ability to work independently to effectively manage assigned territory.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a high level professional and courteous conduct with peers, internal and external customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work in healthcare settings such as hospitals and clinics and abide by customer personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements including, but not limited to gowning and facial masks.
- Requires the ability to carry out the physical requirements of the job including kneeling and standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds using lifting aids, technologies, or appropriate assistance.
- Must be able to sit and drive extended distances as per region requirements or fly for a number of hours.
- Must be able to travel including overnight stays as required.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous field service experience is preferred.
