Job Summary
Smiths Detection is hiring a Field Service Technician I who will handle installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment primarily at airports and other locations. Requires daily travel, customer service, communication skills, and technical knowledge in electrical or mechanical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
- Associate’s Degree or related trade certification or military training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields
Desired Qualifications
- Competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite
- Aptitude for learning specialized software programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork
- Ability to handle stressful situations
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a federal background investigation
- Must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs
- Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs
- Must be able to move/manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs with assistance
