Job Summary

Conduct testing on low and medium voltage breakers using Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing equipment. Perform mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment, and parts replacement. Install and modify switchgear control wiring while accurately reading schematics and wiring drawings. Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls and test power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR. Utilize meters and document all activities accurately using Power DB. Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors, lifting at least 30 lbs without assistance. Complete assignments as described in applicable specifications while maintaining strong communication and time management skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to perform physical activity such as pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending in all types of weather extremes
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. without assistance
  • Valid Driver's license and good driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer an Associate's degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
