Job Summary
Field Service Technician (HW) performing preventive maintenance on Varian Medical Systems linear accelerators and imaging systems in a designated field service region; responsibilities include completing scheduled preventive maintenance, managing daily/weekly service schedules, escalating incidents when needed, submitting field service work orders and expense reports, handling consignment parts and other documentation, and maintaining vendor credentialing for client access. Requires excellent time management, professional communication with customers, ability to read and apply technical documentation, basic knowledge of electronic/electro-mechanical systems, and familiarity with handheld test equipment (DVM/DMM, digital oscilloscope).
Required Qualifications
- HS Degree or Equivalent
- Preferred: Vocational training or military experience with electronics
- Vendor Credentialing status and compliance with client access requirements
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment (linear accelerators and imaging systems)
- Basic knowledge of electronic, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems
- Proficiency with reference materials and technical documentation
- Strong time management and customer communication skills
