Job Summary
Field Service Technician for Generator Division responsible for performing shop and/or field repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel and gas generators, including automatic transfer switches, batteries, and load banks. May perform emergency/unscheduled repairs during after-hours, weekends, and holidays. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs; reads and interprets manuals, schematics, and work orders; uses hand and power tools; detects faulty operations and reports to service manager. Drives company vehicle to job sites; overnight travel may be required. May perform welding, towing, or use of additional tools; must operate in non-climate controlled environments and handle physical tasks including lifting up to 100 lbs. Must have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; able to interpret schematics and perform practical applications; comply with NFPA 70E PPE; maintain safe work areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent (GED)
- 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training or equivalent combination of both education and experience
- Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply with Company policy
- Experience on Generac, Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, Aksa, Blue Star, Taylor generators are a plus
