Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair industrial automation and control systems at customer facilities, diagnosing electrical and electronic failures in PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and CNC equipment. Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues causing repeat downtime, using electrical test equipment to evaluate system performance. Support equipment startups, commissioning, and system optimization projects while documenting findings and partnering with customer maintenance teams to improve reliability. Travel to locations for emergency service and planned maintenance assignments, representing Galco with a safety-first mindset and technical expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance, field service, automation, or electronics troubleshooting experience
- PLC troubleshooting
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Servo systems
- Motor controls
- Industrial networks
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory
- Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools
