Job Summary
Inspect and repair firestopping systems, fire-rated doors, and fire dampers per NFPA, IBC, and UL standards. Read Life Safety Plans and construction drawings to perform minor repairs on doors, frames, and wall assemblies. Document inspection results and repairs using tablet-based reporting while maintaining tools and ensuring safe job sites. Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams while traveling locally up to 100% of the time. This role supports life safety compliance across healthcare and commercial facilities, requiring independent work in varying environmental conditions including confined spaces and ladder work.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in firestopping, fire doors, dampers, or life safety systems
- Ability to read Life Safety Plans (LSPs) and work independently in facilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- High attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
- Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office tools
- Self-motivated and dependable with strong customer service skills
- Willingness to support multiple service lines and travel extensively
- Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company driving and insurance eligibility requirements
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to obtain and maintain identification necessary for work-related travel
- Ability to travel locally up to 100% of the time
- Ability to work occasional overtime, nights, weekends, or modified schedules as business needs require
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
