FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job Summary
Diagnose electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and construction equipment by reading work orders, listening to operational malfunctions, and performing mechanical repairs after full inspection. Lubricate moving parts, adjust safety devices, and verify conformance by driving repaired units. Provide estimates, communicate repair needs to customers, obtain signatures, and maintain the professional image of the service van. Track service van maintenance, submit daily time cards and paperwork including work orders and invoices, and represent the Equipment Depot to clients while protecting customers and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One to Three months related experience and/or training
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Knowledge of internet software
