Job Summary
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN responsibilities include repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and construction equipment by diagnosing malfunctions from observations and test results, offering solutions and estimates, performing mechanical repairs after inspection, recording complete repair details and serial numbers, obtaining customer signatures, communicating repair needs, inspecting safety devices, lubricating moving parts, and test-driving repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications. The role represents Equipment Depot to customers, maintains a professional appearance of the van, coordinates with operations/service manager for routine maintenance, and ensures safety and quality in all service activities. Requires High School/GED and driver’s license with a clean driving record; 1–3 months related experience is acceptable; strong communication, documentation, and basic math skills are needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Experience: One to Three months related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of internet software (computer skills)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak before customers or employees
- Mathematical ability: basic arithmetic and percent calculations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to work in varied environments (office to job site to industrial locations)
