Job Summary
Entry-level Field Service Technician at Kodiak Gas Services responsible for assisting in running compressor packages and equipment, providing diagnostic and repair support, and contributing to operating policies and material forecasts. The role emphasizes hands-on fault diagnosis, basic troubleshooting, 24/7 coverage, on-call rotations, safety/compliance adherence, report generation, and maintaining equipment with strong mechanical aptitude. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, English proficiency, and relevant compressor experience or training. The position prioritizes teamwork, customer focus, and proactive communication to ensure high mechanical availability and service reliability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent - required
- Valid Driver’s License with MVR within acceptable parameters
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- 1-year compression process, production, and equipment related experience and/or training
- Some knowledge in gas processes, compressor systems (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar)
- Basic knowledge of compressor packages and related components
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Teamwork, effective communication (written and oral), analytical capability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Commitment to safety and HSE procedures
Desired Qualifications
- 1-year compression process experience
- knowledge of gas processes (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar compressors)
- prefer OEM, Trade School or related hands-on experience
- completion of Kodiak's Short Service Employee (SSE) program (preferred
- strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- effective written and oral communication
- MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
