Job Summary
Install and maintain processing and packaging machinery at food plants, applying troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills to diagnose issues and restore system performance. Conduct preventive maintenance, read schematics and service manuals, and engage with customers to analyze equipment status and prioritize corrective actions. Travel 80% away from home primarily in the Southwest Region, with potential island travel required. Requires five plus years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience and bilingual English-Spanish skills.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience -- servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery
- Must be able to sit for long periods on airplane or in an auto to reach job destinations
- Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job
- Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
- Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs
- Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required
- After training travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri)
- Travel to the islands will be required for this opportunity
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred
- Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems
- Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership
- Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired
