Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and commission commercial and industrial pumping systems, control panels, motors, and Variable Frequency Drives in the field. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-related failures using schematics, diagnostic equipment, and specialized test instruments. Perform preventive maintenance, startup, and performance testing on centrifugal pumps, booster systems, and vertical turbine pumps while adhering to OSHA safety requirements. Maintain detailed service reports on mobile devices and communicate repair recommendations to customers. Serve as a mentor to new technicians and manage multiple priorities while traveling for out-of-town jobs, including overnight stays and mandatory training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active, REAL ID-compliant driver's license with a clean driving record
- Valid U.S. passport as required for access to federal facilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to be on call
- Ability to travel for out-of-town jobs
- Ability to stay overnight for some jobs
- Ability to attend mandatory training classes out of town for one-week periods
- Ability to serve as a mentor and assist with the training of new field service technicians
- Ability to perform all other duties as assigned
- Successful background and reference checks
- Successful pre-employment drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school, electrical, HVAC, industrial maintenance, or controls training
- Previous field service experience with industrial pumps, control systems, VFDs, water/wastewater equipment, HVAC hydronic systems, or rotating equipment
