Job Summary
Apply expert troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair engine components, electrical systems, and computers at customer job sites. Disassemble, inspect removed parts for reusability, and reassemble machinery to factory specifications while interpreting service manuals. Document all repairs, prepare parts requisitions, and maintain a clean work environment. Interact with customers to answer repair questions and refer non-repair inquiries to supervisors. Perform heavy electrical repairs and utilize technical software for accurate reporting. Maintain a valid CDL and DOT certification, and work any shift or overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years' experience repairing heavy construction equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines
- Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL
- Ability to become DOT certified with DOT Medical Card
- Willingness to work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business and customer demands
- Strong communication with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-direction and well organized
- Proficient use of technical software, databases and manuals
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of three years' relevant heavy equipment field experience
