Job Summary
Install and activate BarnTalk hardware at customer sites, then troubleshoot and repair issues remotely or on-site using mechanical and electronic skills. Lead short sales cycles to expand business while educating customers on system operation and best practices. Perform maintenance visits, complete system audits, and support warranty claims or replacement part installs. Document all installations, repairs, parts usage, and customer interactions accurately. Travel frequently throughout surrounding areas, including weekends for emergencies, while maintaining a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience installing or servicing mechanical/electrical systems
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance, electrical work, low voltage installation/support
- Strong understanding of agricultural operations
- Comfort working on-farm in various conditions
- Ability and willingness to travel during the week and in emergency situations on weekends
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to rent a vehicle or drive a company vehicle
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a startup environment
- Willingness to participate beyond core job responsibilities
- Willingness to voice ideas and impact change
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to crawl through barns
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions
- Must be available for weekend shifts in emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ag, HVAC, or controls
- IoT or wireless technology experience
- Working knowledge of hardware installation processes
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations
- Technical savvy and curiosity to deeply understand the customer's challenges and identify solutions
