Job Summary
Field Service Technician Level 1-3 responsible for hands-on field service at customer sites, focusing on installation of electrical and mechanical components, basic commissioning of IEM equipment in data center or industrial settings. Duties include attending project meetings, testing and commissioning of switchboards and power products, troubleshooting electrical circuits and networking equipment, coordinating with the Technical Project Manager, performing preventive maintenance and field modifications, and providing technical product support. Requires travel up to 75%, willingness to work evenings/weekends, strong communication, ability to work independently, and a technical degree or equivalent with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, data center, or field service roles involving commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (especially for Level 3). Military experience is a plus; ability to read electrical wiring diagrams (Level 3) and experience with switchgear/electrical controls systems are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A technical degree or equivalent
- 8 yrs+ of experience in manufacturing environment, data center or field service with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3)
- Must be a team player and have strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to travel (75%) and willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed
- Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems (required for Level 3)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3)
- Experience installing and commissioning electrical/mechanical components and subassemblies
- Perform basic testing and commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products
- Troubleshooting electrical circuits and networking equipment
- Coordinating with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to resolve issues
- Performing preventive maintenance and field installations/modifications
- Technical product support
