Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Build mechanical equipment, run pneumatics/compound lines, and wire machines per supplied CAD drawings and engineering specifications. Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical issues and proactively complete assigned tasks on the manufacturing floor. Travel for service and new machine installations, updating the Operations Manager on assignment activities. Make recommendations to functional departments to achieve quality improvement and lower design and manufacturing costs. Perform preventative maintenance, precision measuring, and mechanical alignments while analyzing problems to synthesize alternative solutions. Work in a fast-paced environment with occasional overtime, weekends, and 20–50% domestic and international travel (average 25–30%).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of mechanical assembly
- 1-3 years of pneumatics
- 1-3 years of wiring / electrical
- Working knowledge and experience regarding electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems
- Ability to analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs
- Experience in preventative maintenance techniques, precision measuring, mechanical alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment
- Exposure to programmable logic controllers, field devices, and electrical drive and motor systems
- Ability to travel (Local, National, International)
- Willingness to work over-time and possible weekends
- 20 – 50% domestic and international travel (average travel will be 25-30%)
