Job Summary
Perform scheduled and remedial service on UPS, power distribution units, and battery systems for retail, financial, and municipal customers. Render on-site and phone assistance, implement field change notices, and maintain inventory while adhering to safety guidelines and the 14-hour work rule. Complete accurate administrative tasks including time cards, expense reports, and service documentation to ensure first-time fixes and meet response time requirements. Travel is required with flexible schedules including weekends and holidays; a valid driver's license is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- High School or Vocational School Diploma
- 2-4 years military experience in a related technical field
- 0-2 years of relevant industry experience
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be able to complete and pass a motor vehicle records check
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines
- Must be able to adhere to work hours policy guidelines – '14 hours rule'
- Must be able to adhere to company dress code and safety regulations
- Must be able to adhere to company startup/escalation processes and procedures
- Must be able to meet or exceed on-site response time requirements for each customer
- Must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully in both written and verbal forms
- Must be able to manage time effectively by prioritizing and balancing technical tasks with administrative tasks
- Must be able to collaborate with peers, customers, suppliers, and leadership
- Must be able to complete administrative tasks (i.e. report writing, time entry, expense reporting, material debriefing, inventory counting, etc.) in a timely fashion
- Must be able to make basic site evaluation skills to include: environmental temperature, and general operating conditions
- Must be able to be familiar with electrical / electronic test equipment and fundamentals
- Must be able to follow written technical documentation (i.e. procedures and product manuals) to perform service tasks
- Must be able to employ elementary fix/repair techniques based upon directed supervision
- Must be able to complete service tasks and return unit to full operating conditions based upon directed supervision
- Must be able to summarize and report all work related tasks performed in written and verbal form
- Must be able to be efficient with a personal computer and associated applications (Microsoft Office, Vertiv software, etc.)
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to work flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, and holidays)
