Job Summary

Field Service Technician responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing lift trucks and components; perform planned maintenance and engine tune-ups on various models, operate service van safely, and use TW Mobile to process service calls. Will assist in training apprentices, ensure safety and high-quality customer service, identify and order required replacement parts, inspect equipment for safe operation, and test repairs. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years mechanical experience in lift trucks or related field, valid driver's license, and proficiency with diagnostic equipment and manuals.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years mechanical experience in lift truck repair or related industry
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

Desired Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years prior mechanical experience in lift truck repair, automotive, large equipment or related industry or related trade school education
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read work orders
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics
  • Able to repair, or replace major system components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering and transmissions, engines with limited supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all parts of the forklift truck needing repairs or maintenance
