Job Summary
Read work orders and diagnose malfunctions in electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks or construction equipment by listening to the truck in operation. Perform mechanical repairs after completing inspections, lubricate moving parts, and verify conformance by driving repaired vehicles. Represent the Equipment Depot to customers, provide estimates, obtain signatures on work orders, and communicate repair needs. Examine protective guards and safety devices, make adjustments, and return paperwork including invoices to the field service coordinator daily. Submit time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily, whether dispatched from home or working on-site. Maintain the professional image and cleanliness of the service van at all times while protecting customers, the depot, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One to Three months related experience and/or training
- valid driver's license
- clean driving record
- knowledge of internet software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
