Job Summary
Execute quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance on HITEC systems, including electrical and mechanical inspections of rotating machines, generators, and cooling components. Perform basic troubleshooting using single-line diagrams and diagnostic tools, escalating complex issues to support resources while maintaining methodical fault analysis. Communicate clearly with onsite customers regarding job status and findings, representing the company professionally at all locations. Complete service reports, checklists, and logs accurately within required timelines, adhering to safety and documentation standards. Support Level 1 technicians and peers during onboarding and OJT activities. This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to travel frequently, and willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and on-call assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including short notice travel when required
- Minimum 6 months to 2 years of related electrical/mechanical maintenance, field service, military technical, industrial equipment, or equivalent experience
- Basic electrical background and/or mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret basic single-line diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical documents
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting under moderate supervision
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently at remote customer sites with support and escalation resources available
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, emergency support, and on-call assignments as business needs require
- Ability to follow safety procedures while working around low- and medium-voltage equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Technical associate degree, trade school, vocational training, military technical training, or equivalent field experience
- Experience with power generation equipment, generators, switchgear, controls, rotating equipment, industrial machines, or mission-critical systems
- Familiarity with PLC interfaces, SCADA/monitoring systems, schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and service reporting systems
- Prior customer-facing field service experience
- Demonstrated history of reliability, preparedness, initiative, professional communication, and willingness to learn
- Completion of HITEC Level 0 and Level 1 training or equivalent internal onboarding requirements
