Job Summary
Inspect and assess medical equipment to identify service needs, diagnose operational issues, and recommend appropriate repair or maintenance solutions for surgical microscopes and related devices. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections in accordance with OEM and company standards while traveling to customer sites to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals through responsive service, attend service meetings, and drive new business growth by identifying opportunities for service contracts, refurbishments, and equipment sales. Respond promptly to multiple weekly service calls to deliver fast resolutions and represent the company at industry conferences. This hybrid role supports healthcare facilities across the South and Southwest England territory with approximately 60–80% travel, offering a base salary with unlimited commission potential up to £80,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- 1-3 years of experience in field service, biomedical engineering, or technical sales within the medical device or healthcare industry
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to diagnose, repair and maintain complex medical or industrial equipment
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence purchasing decisions in a professional setting
- Comfortable balancing hands-on service work with customer-facing commercial responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional, solution-oriented approach
- Organized and self-motivated, and capable of managing priorities across a wide geographic territory
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory (approximately 60–80%)
Desired Qualifications
- University degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with ERP or field service software
