Job Summary

Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment, and motorized rodder machinery to install, repair, and maintain the City-owned water distribution system, wastewater collection system, and other public property. Use a variety of power and hand tools for line maintenance tasks. Train in preparation to obtain an OK Commercial Class "B" drivers license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement and ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications within one year of hire. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable. Previous experience in the water and wastewater field is preferred. This entry-level position is safety/security sensitive and subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed City of Midwest City employment application
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license
  • Eligible to be insurable
  • At least 18 years old
  • Ability to obtain an OK Commercial Class B drivers license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one year of hire
  • Ability to obtain ODEQ Class D water and wastewater certifications within one year of hire
  • Eligibility for pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening
