Job Summary
Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems, perform routine repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance at customer facilities. Inspect malfunctioning equipment to determine problem scope, analyze reports for recommendations on repair or replacement, and coordinate resolutions with engineering and other departments. Install and modify equipment according to industry and company standards, ensuring full functionality while maintaining records for the Field Service Manager and Quality Department. Troubleshoot machines using hand and power tools, align gears and components, and assemble systems following written specifications. Travel 80-90% of the time, generally returning home on weekends, while adhering to strict safety requirements and obtaining necessary certifications like TWIC.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two to five years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to obtain passport
- Must be able to obtain major credit card (for car rental)
- Ability to attend and pass safety orientation exams at customer locations
- Must also be able to obtain industry required certifications, such as TWIC, to gain entry access to customer locations
- Must be able to travel 70% of time
- Must be able to travel 80-90% of time
- Must be able to work on-site
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others
- Must be able to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks concurrently
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to interchange with others in the department
- Must be able to work at heights exceeding 50 feet
- Must be able to operate various mobile elevating work platforms
- Must adhere to Kelvion and Customer's Safety Requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to obtain industry required certifications, such as TWIC, to gain entry access to customer locations
