Job Summary
Conduct preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs on standby power generation equipment, including alternators, engines, and automatic transfer switches. Independently troubleshoot faults, replace parts, and perform startups on industrial and residential units while managing physical inventory and submitting repair quotes. Supervise a team of Field Service Technicians by coaching, evaluating performance, and developing training plans. Coordinate dispatch planning, backfills, and on-call coverage to ensure adequate field support across remote, elevated, and rooftop sites. Maintain safety standards and communicate internally via computer-based systems. Requires 24/7 availability for technical assistance and emergency service calls within the local service territory.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent), relevant technical training or previous experience accepted
- Must reside within the posted geographical area or be willing to relocate at own expense
- Previous experience working on 8.5kW – 2,500kW generators
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain OSHA certification
- Ability to obtain DOT medical card
- Possess a strong customer services focus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with general computer skills
- Proficient with mobile dispatch software
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a productive manner in all types of weather conditions and environments
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on call hours as required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience preferred
