Field Service Representative - Mechanical

Job Summary

Troubleshoot mechanical equipment at customer facilities, make necessary adjustments to restore running status, and report abnormal conditions or inaccurate actions. Lead on-site teams, liaise with customers and project managers, and coordinate third-party vendors to resolve technical issues while adhering to plant safety regulations. Collect technical specifications, prepare comprehensive service reports, facilitate warranty claims, and ensure issue resolution through follow-up communication. Travel domestically and internationally for long- and short-term support, with up to 80% travel time during service rotations. Rotate between service work and system build integration to develop subject matter expertise. Be available for rotational on-call duty and meet customer expectations efficiently.

Required Qualifications

  • A post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate of qualification specializing in mechanical engineering, Tool & die maker, Millwright, MTBI, or equivalent
  • A minimum of five years of experience servicing or building high speed automation systems
  • An excellent understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic electrical and system control
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • The ability to read reference manuals
  • The ability to read assembly systems instruction guides
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • The ability to quickly gain knowledge to readily troubleshoot systems
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites
  • Travel time will be up 80% during service rotations per year
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
