Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical components of Battery Electric mining equipment according to defined specifications. Commission new products by conducting pre-delivery inspections and operational site testing. Perform root cause analysis to solve common problems and provide preventive, cost-efficient repairs. Complete maintenance reports for stakeholders, obtain customer authorization for invoices, and occasionally collect technical feedback. Assign tasks to junior staff, coach customer technicians on servicing principles, and ensure all work adheres to safety standards and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Field Service Millwright
- Diploma in a Mechanical/Electrical Field
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada as required
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Candidates must be open to traveling for training
- Experience working with underground mining equipment
- Particular preference for expertise in mechanical cutting products used in mining operations
- Excellent proficiency in reading schematics
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with mining equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
Desired Qualifications
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
- Previous experience with Sandvik equipment would be an asset
