Job Summary
Conduct troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical aspects of Battery Electric mining equipment according to defined specifications. Perform preventive and cost-efficient repairs, commission new equipment including pre-delivery and on-site operational testing, and conduct root cause analysis to solve common problems. Plan tasks with correct tools and parts, complete maintenance reports for stakeholders, and obtain customer authorization for invoicing. Coach junior staff and customer technicians on basic servicing principles while ensuring all work procedures comply with safety standards and risk assessments. Support customer processes by suggesting improvements and collect technical feedback for the Sales Area.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Field Service Millwright
- Diploma in a Mechanical/Electrical Field
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada as required
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Candidates must be open to traveling for training
- Experience working with underground mining equipment
- Particular preference for expertise in mechanical cutting products used in mining operations
- Excellent proficiency in reading schematics
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with mining equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
Desired Qualifications
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
- Previous experience with Sandvik equipment would be an asset
