Job Summary
Field Service Mechanic-DOT responsible for on-site service and repair of Taylor equipment, diagnosing malfunctions, performing inspections, assembling and training operators on machine operation, and ensuring proper reporting of time, parts, and travel to support billing. Duties include planning work with the Service Supervisor, performing repairs or replacements, providing tools and arranging for on-site facilities, testing machines, and maintaining a professional image with the service truck. Requires aerial equipment experience, valid driver’s license, DOT certification eligibility (21+), ability to stay overnight, and strong communication and basic computer skills; occasional travel to out-of-town locations and participation in company-sponsored training. Includes opportunities to train junior staff and participate in large repair projects.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- MUST HAVE AERIAL EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- DOT certifiable (must be 21 years of age to be DOT certified)
- Three years on-the-job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics
- Some vocational or formal schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair
