Job Summary
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field, including welding machines, generators, and air compressors. Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes and filter replacements, then repair or replace defective parts. Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards. Keep accurate records of service activities, communicate diagnoses to customers, and provide cost estimates for approval. Maintain a clean work area and lift up to 50 lbs. Work 40 hours per week with rotating on-call shifts for nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines
- Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
- Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements – i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
