Field Service Foreman – Reciprocating Compressors

Job Summary
Field Service Foreman to lead reciprocating compressor maintenance, overhaul, installation, inspection, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites across Texas, Louisiana, and the United States. Responsibilities include leading mechanics, millwrights, and subcontractors; establishing daily work plans; ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality; directing disassembly/inspection/repair/installation/commissioning of reciprocating compressors; overseeing installation, alignment, startup, and performance verification; coordinating with customers and project managers; maintaining field reports and documentation; and promoting a strong safety culture. Requires extensive hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors, prior leadership in industrial environments, and proficiency with OEM manuals, drawings, and engineering specifications. Travel to customer facilities is expected. Ability to read OEM documentation, lead field teams, and communicate effectively with stakeholders is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of field service experience supporting reciprocating compressors
- Minimum 2+ years of experience leading field crews as a Foreman, Lead Mechanic, Lead Millwright, or equivalent supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience performing major overhauls, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on reciprocating compressors
- Experience with one or more major compressor OEM platforms, including: Ariel, Cooper-Bessemer, Worthington, Clark, Ingersoll Rand, Dresser-Rand, Gemini, Superior, Caterpillar Gas Compression Equipment, Waukesha Engine Driven Compression Systems
- Strong understanding of compressor frame geometry, piston rod runout, bearing inspections, valve maintenance, and compressor performance fundamentals
- Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams
