Job Summary
Field Service Engineer role focused on preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs for diagnostic imaging equipment (X-Ray, Vascular, Mammo) in healthcare settings. Role includes on-site support in the Charlotte, NC area with occasional work from a home office, 1st shift, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm. Responsibilities include executing PMs, assisting with installations, performing repairs, maintaining service records, communicating with customers and teammates, identifying value-added services, and engaging in sales opportunities such as contract renewals. Requires engineering or related degree (or equivalent military education) and a valid driver's license; willingness for after-hours/on-call coverage; compliance with background checks, immunizations, and potential federal requirements. Relocation assistance is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2 or more years of experience servicing electronic, mechanical, electrical or IT equipment.
- Experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Willingness to be available after hours, or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
- Compliance with GE HealthCare background check, immunization requirements, and potential federal government background checks if assigned to support a contract with the federal government.
