Job Summary
Field Service Engineer responsibilities include installing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of sensor-based sorters in TOMRA’s Recycling install base, delivering exceptional customer experiences through clear communication, optimizing sorting systems, identifying opportunities to add value with TOMRA products, and acting as a conduit between customers and HQ to provide in-market feedback. The role supports customers in South England and requires an apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (ONC/HNC or equivalent), strong technical/problem-solving abilities, comfort with software and diagnostics tools, and a valid UK driving license. Location preference is within a 60-mile radius of London with remote options available; TOMRA emphasizes an inclusive, collaborative work culture and provides competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (ONC/HNC or equivalent preferred)
- Strong problem-solving mindset with good technical understanding (mechanical, electrical and software)
- Comfortable working with software, systems, and diagnostics tools
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Valid UK driving license
