Job Summary
Install, commission, and maintain TOMRA sorting machines at customer sites, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electromechanical issues to ensure minimal downtime. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits while supporting clients with training on daily machine operation. Document service activities and provide feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement, collaborating across service, engineering, and sales to deliver a high-quality customer experience. Requires a valid driver's license, willingness to travel across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and occasionally other European countries, and comfort working in industrial environments. Minimum five years of experience in field service engineering is required.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical education (Requires secondary education diploma, preferably a subject-specific diploma) or proven practical experience in a mechanical field service role
- An EFK (Elektrofachkraft) together with AuS (Arbeiten unter Spannung) qualification is mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Field Service Engineer
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating equipment)
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls preferred
- Fluent in English and German
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Willingness to travel across mostly Germany (Austria, Switzerland, and occasionally other European countries - travel planned in advance)
- Comfortable working in industrial environments and on customer sites
- Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Residing north of Brussels is considered an advantage
- Additional languages are an advantage
