Job Summary
Field Service Engineer responsible for installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Beckman Coulter Diagnostics chemistry and immunoassay instruments across the Metro-Detroit area. Works independently to troubleshoot and service equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and provide efficient, high-quality service to Beckman Coulter customers. Responsibilities include training newer engineers, maintaining accurate service records, ordering replacement parts, and advancing team goals using systems like OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint. Must travel as needed to service assigned geography and occasionally other areas, with a focus on delivering timely, reliable support that improves laboratory workflow and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent military experience
- 1+ year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
- current valid driver’s license and good driving record over the last three years
- ability to travel within assigned geography and occasional overnight travel
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and manual dexterity
