Job Summary
Perform on-site service, diagnostics, and repair of inline and cluster PVD systems while supporting installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance at customer sites. Train end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting, then communicate effectively with customers, internal engineering, and support teams. Document all service work and maintain accurate service records. Travel 50–75% as required to support these tasks. This role supports physical vapor deposition systems for semiconductor and thin film applications, with a preference for candidates based in the Bay Area, California.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience servicing PVD systems or other vacuum-based semiconductor/equipment tools
- Strong knowledge of vacuum, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Comfortable with hands-on, field-based troubleshooting and repairs
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate
- S. work authorization required
- Travel as needed to customer sites (typically 50–75%)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting thin film deposition systems in a manufacturing or R&D setting
- Prior exposure to solar, semiconductor, or consumer electronics manufacturing environments (e.g., high-volume fabs or precision thin film applications)
- Experience with inline or cluster tool configurations preferred
