Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair data center hardware, storage area networks, and system configurations onsite at customer sites within a 120-mile radius. Perform remote system analysis and configuration changes using diagnostic tools to minimize downtime before physical arrival. Manage inventory of parts, conduct daily and bi-yearly physical counts, and return excess or defective components. Complete audit forms, timesheets, and expense reports while maintaining accurate communication with customers and the support center. Participate in after-hours on-call rotations to respond to system failures regardless of product training, driving to assigned locations using your own vehicle for service calls.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with OEM data center hardware with ability to grasp new products/concepts
- Successful prior field experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license and an appropriate driving record based on the position travel requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time, pull, lift, squat, reach, bend, and stoop to equipment, parts, and supplies
- Must be able to pass customer background screenings in addition to Park Place Technologies pre-employment screening
- High School Degree required
- Must be able to travel to client sites up to 75% of the time within a predetermined territory radius (up to 4+ hours/one way by car)
- Availability for after hours, on-call rotation to support customer needs
Desired Qualifications
- CompTia A+ and Server + preferred
- Certification and other OEM computer hardware certifications from major vendors such as Dell, IBM, HP, etc. are helpful
- Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience preferred
