Job Summary
Diagnose, analyze, and repair data center hardware, storage area networks, and system configurations at customer sites within a 120-mile radius. Provide onsite diagnostic support and remote troubleshooting for server failures, utilizing diagnostic tools and error logs to minimize downtime. Manage inventory and parts logistics, including daily counts and bi-yearly physical audits, while accurately completing timesheets and expense reports. Drive to assigned service locations using your own vehicle, adhering to SLA terms and participating in after-hours on-call rotations. Perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds and extended standing, with travel requirements up to 75% of the workday.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with OEM data center hardware with ability to grasp new products/concepts
- Successful prior field experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license and an appropriate driving record based on the position travel requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time, pull, lift, squat, reach, bend, and stoop to equipment, parts, and supplies
- Must be able to pass customer background screenings in addition to Park Place Technologies pre-employment screening
- High School Degree required
- Must be able to travel to client sites up to 75% of the time within a predetermined territory radius (up to 4+ hours/one way by car)
- Availability for after hours, on-call rotation to support customer needs
Desired Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills; CompTia A+ and Server + preferred
- Certification and other OEM computer hardware certifications from major vendors such as Dell, IBM, HP, etc. are helpful
- Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience preferred
