Job Summary
Field Service Engineer role based in the UK covering the Manchester area (Oldham/North Manchester) with occasional travel to the Blackburn/Bolton patch. You will diagnose, repair and maintain parcel locker machines (APMs) on client sites, perform hardware and software upgrades, configure firmware, and deliver technical support and training to employees and subcontractors. You’ll develop new solutions, maintain technical documentation, and ensure quality standards and contractual guidance are followed. The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical equipment experience, proficient use of diagnostic and hand tools, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally. You may visit the Hemel Hempstead office base as needed; the role emphasizes field service on-site work and coordinating with internal teams and international colleagues." ,
Required Qualifications
- Similar experience in a Field Service Technical Engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic tools
- Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment; software configuration and firmware updates
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide technical training
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines across multiple markets
- High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates
- Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff
- Flexibility to travel for service and training activities both in the UK and occasionally internationally
- Familiarity with parcel locker or similar electromechanical systems
- Proficiency with IT tools and documentation (technical manuals)
