Job Summary
Provide on-site troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial automation equipment. Perform preventative maintenance activities and field system modifications. Respond to emergency service calls on a rotating on-call schedule. Maintain accurate and timely service documentation, customer logs, and internal service records. Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure issue resolution, proper follow-up, and high customer satisfaction. Support small engineering projects with varying levels of technical complexity. Identify and participate in sales opportunities including service contracts, renewals, and system upgrades. Operate safely in industrial environments involving electrical, mechanical, and pressurized systems.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of field service or industrial automation experience
- 2+ years of leadership, supervision, or project coordination experience
- Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and configuring PLC platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and GE
- Strong aptitude for troubleshooting or configuring variable frequency drives including Siemens, ABB, and Allen-Bradley
- Experience troubleshooting or configuring HMI systems and software packages (preferred)
- Experience in metals processing or other heavy industrial manufacturing environments (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel 50–70% domestically
