Job Summary
Commission design reviews, prepare test procedures, and oversee on-site testing for UPS systems while performing preventive maintenance, emergency response, and field modifications. Coordinate with technical support to resolve operational issues, develop Methods of Procedures, and provide proactive recommendations to clients. Complete field service reports promptly and report unusual developments to a supervisor. Train periodically at headquarters on testing equipment and rebuilding systems. Work nights, weekends, and on-call rotations with regional travel within Las Vegas, Nevada.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience
- Skilled in troubleshooting equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STSs, etc.
- Proficient with hand tools and test equipment for maintenance and repairs
- Strong verbal, written communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative
- Knowledge of equipment manufacturers' specifications
- Physically capable of bending and lifting up to 100 lbs as required
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on-call when needed
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Prior experience with third-party UPS service providers is a plus
- OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI is required
- Must have a clean driving record
- Primarily regional travel within Las Vegas, Nevada; occasional national travel may be required (not including emergencies)
- Candidate is preferred to live in Las Vegas, Nevada area
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred 10+ years of relevant experience
- A technical degree (e.g., DeVry, Lincoln Tech) is a plus
- Military veterans with experience in Electrical/Mechanical systems are highly valued (Navy EMN, ETN, MMNs, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard, etc.)
