Job Summary
Troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair X-ray and trace detection equipment while completing preventative maintenance activities and responding to breakdowns within KPI commitments. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools, replace machine components, and support installation and commissioning of new systems. Perform inspections, cleaning, and repairs, manage spare parts inventory, and complete accurate service documentation. Maintain safe work practices and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders. This role requires a Certificate III or degree in engineering with 3+ years of field service experience and a provisional driver's licence. Based in Sydney Airport, the position involves working in a 24/7 operational environment on mission-critical aviation security technology.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III Trade Qualification or Degree in: Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, IT or related discipline
- 3+ years' experience in a field service, maintenance, manufacturing, automation or technical support environment
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and testing equipment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Provisional or unrestricted driver's licence
- Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC) and other relevant clearances
