Job Summary
Field Service Engineer to install, inspect, and startup equipment at customer sites, monitor erection and installation for adherence to specifications, service and troubleshoot products, perform testing and calibration with gauges, meters, PLCs, temperature controllers and AC drives, provide technical support and training to customers, complete documentation, assist in training new hires, and travel up to 50% (including international travel). The role requires high school diploma or GED, 3-5 years of field service experience, electrician qualifications, strong mechanical aptitude, PLC experience, and ability to read blueprints and operate testing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years of field service experience
- Must meet requirements for electrician and have a high level of mechanical aptitude
- 3-5 years of PLC experience and understanding of logic for equipment functions
- Understanding of temperature controllers and AC drives including programming these devices
- Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, and operating and maintenance instructions
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Communicate effectively with customers and other employees
- Solve practical problems and handle variable situations
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Operate a variety of small hand and power tools and electronic testing equipment
- Willingness to travel up to 50% per year
- Read and work from blueprints and schematics
