Job Summary
Field Service Engineer responsible for installing, commissioning, and supporting manufacturing equipment and industrial automation systems at customer facilities; supervises installation activities to meet specifications and standards; conducts startups, diagnostics, maintenance, and upgrades; troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues; travels to customer sites across North America, provides training to operators/maintenance personnel, and documents service activities with recommendations for improvements; emphasizes safety and customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, productivity, and system performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent technical training and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, commissioning, automation, controls, manufacturing equipment support, or industrial equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting industrial automation systems, manufacturing equipment, production machinery, or automated production systems.
- Experience with commissioning, startup, preventative maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment.
- Experience working directly with customers in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of PLC-based control systems, automation equipment, and industrial controls.
