Field Service Engineer III – Analytical Instrumentation (Greater Montreal REMOTE)

Job Summary

Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, maintain, and qualify Chromatography and Trace Elemental instrumentation for customers across the Greater Montreal region and Eastern Canada. Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to maximize instrument uptime while managing service schedules, completing documentation, and closing work orders. Deliver advanced technical support and training, requiring international travel to the United States for required product education. Work safely in laboratory environments adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and PPE standards. This role supports the Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry Division, serving leading laboratories in academia, industry, healthcare, and government.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance and routinely transport service tools and equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Must be eligible to travel to the U.S. for required training and business support
  • Must be eligible to travel internationally, including to the United States, for required training and business support
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary travel documentation, including a valid passport
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written)
  • Commitment to safety while working in customer laboratory environments
  • Diploma, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years Field service experience supporting analytical instrumentation or equivalent technical experience
  • Hands-on service experience supporting at least three of the following technologies: Ion Chromatography (IC), Liquid Chromatography (LC/HPLC/UHPLC), ICP-OES, ICP-MS
  • Experience spanning both Chromatography and Trace Elemental product lines

Desired Qualifications

  • Laboratory or bench chemistry experience
  • Candidates with approximately five or more years of progressively responsible field service experience supporting analytical instrumentation
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and demonstrated technical expertise across multiple Chromatography and Trace Elemental platforms
  • Technical expertise across both Chromatography and Trace Elemental instrumentation
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment
