Job Summary

Field Service Technician II at Boston Scientific will install, maintain, and service medical systems and devices in a hands-on, field-based role. Responsibilities include on-site service (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, repair), training medical staff, handling field escalations and warranty inquiries, managing service within an assigned territory, documenting service events, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements. The role requires travel (~75%) to support the Southwest U.S. region; sponsorship is not offered. The selected candidate will reside in or near Phoenix, AZ, and may float to cover a broader Southwest region. Preferred backgrounds include BMET or biomedical engineering training, and experience with cardiovascular devices or related technical environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience with an Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role.
  • Examples of equivalent combinations may include (but are not limited to): High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of relevant field service, technical, or biomedical equipment experience
  • Completion of a biomedical equipment technician (BMET) certification, formal technical training program, or military technical training with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant technical experience (e.g., field service, maintenance, repair, or support of complex equipment)
  • Minimum of 1 year in a role requiring travel to customer or field/remote sites
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems, including analog and digital circuitry
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and servicing complex technical or medical equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time to service customers, sometimes on short notice
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable service vehicle that meets company insurance requirements
