Job Summary
Field Service Engineer II at Applied Materials responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipment at sites around the globe. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations, document work, and train junior engineers on safety and troubleshooting. Requires hands-on hardware troubleshooting, strong diagnostic skills, ability to follow task plans and procedures, and readiness to travel to customer sites with a customer-first mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum and/or thermodynamics
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to train junior engineers on site-related safety and troubleshooting procedures
- Valid driver's license and passport
- US work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
