Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance inspections, installation support, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting on life support equipment such as anesthesia machines, ventilators, and defibrillators. Provide secondary maintenance support for general medical equipment as needed. Collaborate with customers to maintain positive relationships while exhibiting technical expertise and professionalism. Travel up to 70% of the time to service sites across the country. This role supports Prime Healthcare's mission of delivering quality, compassionate care to award-winning hospitals through specialized biomedical services.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 0-1 yrs. experience
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 3 yrs. experience servicing Life Support medical equipment
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, electro-mechanical and electronic fundamentals, medical equipment function and operation, safety in healthcare facilities, and medical equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to travel 70% of the time
- Strong knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, other applicable standards and regulations
- Strong planning and organization, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend solution
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to write reports and make presentations on operational and technical issues
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Clinical applications, CMMS systems)
- Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blue prints
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Field related technical certifications (like A+, CBET, CCE or CHTM)
